taylor & hunter

These two are too adorable for words.  Taylor and Hunter were the winners of my Valentine’s Day Giveaway and I am so thankful it provided me the opportunity to photograph them.  They are getting married this fall in Asheville and decided not to do engagement photos since their photographer was down that way – thus Taylor entered the giveaway.  I absolutely loved spending time with these two and that they brought their sweet pup Jax along with them.  They are head over heels in love and constantly make each other laugh, which is such a joy to be witness to.  Plus, how gorgeous are they?  I shot more film than any session prior and I am excited to share it with you all (definitely still a learning process!).  Taylor and Hunter, thank you for letting me capture this joyful time in your lives and hope you all enjoy.

washington dc surprise proposal

Last week I received a message from an old college friend asking if I was near the DC area because another old college friend needed a photographer for a “special shoot”.  I had no idea what was meant by this but of course wanted to find out more and was excited to hear from these two.  A few hours later, I received an email from Tyler letting me know that the “special shoot” was him proposing to his girlfriend in just a few days (such a sweet idea!).  I am so honored to have been there to witness and capture the joy and excitement between these two, during and just moments after he proposed.  One of my favorite moments while taking pictures of them was when Heather said something like, “gosh, I’m sorry I probably shouldn’t be smiling so much in all these photos but I can’t help it.”  Actually, I think that is exactly what you should be doing : ) Tyler and Heather, I could not be happier for you two and wish you all the best.

inn at westwood farm

Back in May, we visited the Inn at Westwood Farm in Orange, Virginia to celebrate our one year anniversary.  We had the most fabulous time and cannot say more wonderful things about the Inn and its owners – everyone should plan a visit to stay there! We were pampered by the wonderful owner, Elizabeth, and our only complaint was that we didn’t stay long enough.  When we first arrived, we walked around the back of the property and I took a few photos on film.  Take a look at how beautiful and relaxing this place is.Inn_Westwood_Farm_Virginia-8Inn_Westwood_Farm_Virginia_17Inn_Westwood_Farm_Virginia-10Inn_Westwood_Farm_Virginia_11Inn_Westwood_Farm_Virginia_12

jamie & trip

A few months back, I received a very exciting phone call from my beautiful cousin, Jamie, letting me know that she and her hubby, Trip, were expecting their first baby!  This was very exciting news for the family as he (we later found out it is a boy) will be one of the first grandchildren and great grandchildren in the family.  Although they currently live in California, they headed back to Virginia for a week in May to spend time with family and I was so excited when Jamie asked if I would take some maternity photos for them.  The rain held out just long enough for us and I am so thankful it did because I absolutely loved capturing this time in their lives.  You two are going to be such awesome parents and I cannot wait to meet this little guy!J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_13J&T_Virginia_Maternity-33J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_3J&T_Virginia_Maternity-4J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_12J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_11J&T_Virginia_Maternity-2J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_6J&T_Virginia_Maternity_Double_10

josie & shawn

Josie & Shawn’s engagement session may be one of my favorites thus far!  These two live in Brooklyn and we met up one afternoon in Redhook to catch up over coffee before jumping into their session.  I say catch up because the three of us actually went to high school together but have not really seen each other since.  It was so wonderful to reminisce about high school and hear all about their journey together and the incredible people they have become.  Josie and Shawn both work with community gardens/farms within the city to help improve the food quality and environment and thus in turn, improve quality of life for the community(super brief description) – how amazing and admirable is that?  These two are so much fun to be around and I loved seeing how happy they make each other.  Living in New York, they both travel around by bike often and sometimes even ride home together on one bike (adorable) so I love that they decided to incorporate their bikes into the session.  Hope you all enjoy some of my favorites (some film images are included throughout)!

These are ALL kinds of adorable. So much sweetness. Love <3

These are some of the sweetest photos I’ve seen. The love flows right out of the images. I feel so lucky to have played a part in their lives. And so much lies ahead!
